Novanet/ALS Courses High School
courses on computer are offered for credit recovery during the school day. Students must have approval of a counselor for
enrollement.
Correspondence Courses HHS allsows students to earn credit
through correspondence courses. Courses are designed aroungd the required course curriculm outlined and approved by TEA. Personal
motivation, self-discipline, and common sense are crucial for correspondence work. Prior approval by the counselor must be
obtained in order to receive credit through correspondence. The student must pay the cost (currently $125 per semester) of
each course plus the expense of a textbook. HHS does not fund the cost of these courses.
Distance Learning Classes SuperNET Virtual High School offers courses for high school credit.
These course offerings are free, at no expense to the student. These courses are internet-based classes and are usually accessed
from home. Enrollment is limited due to participation from other East Texas high schools. Courses are managed by certified
teachers employed by SuperNET. Students must register with Mrs. Cline and complete a student inventory. The courses available
are:
Spanish II, Spanish III, World History, AP US History, World Geography, Health, Algebra I, Algebra II, English
I, AP English III, English IV, IPC, Pre-AP Biology, Physics, Math Models with Applications, Basic Computer Information Systems

Dual Credit On-Campus Dual Credit courses are offered during the school
day on our campus via interactive TV through Kilgore College. Classes are instructed by Kilgore College professors. Students
must register through Kilgore College and pay the appropriate tuition and fees. To be eligible, seniors must be THEA Exempt
or successfully complete the THEA test or Kilgore's Accuplacer test. Courses available on our campus are:
English
1301, English 1302, Government 2305, Economics 2301
Off-Campus Dual Credit courses are available for dual credit
through area post-secondary schoools for both high school and college credit. It is the responsibility of the student to register
and pay for the courses. A senior may miss one block of class time during the school day if enrolled in an evening class.
To be eligible, students must be THEA Exempt or sucessfully complete the THEA test or the Accuplacer test. The most commonly
taken courses are:
English 1301 (1st sem. English 4, .5 credit); English 1302 (2nd sem. English 4, .5 credit); Government 2305 (Government, .5 credit); Economics (Economics, .5 credit); BCIS 1305 (Business Computer Information
Systems, 1.0 credit) SPCH 1315 (Communications Applications, .5 credit) *HIST 1302 (U.S. History, 1.0 credit) *Additional requirement: Before approval, student must score at least 2200 on 10th grade Social Studies TAKS.
