Credit Policies Two semesters may be averaged todether ONLY when the second semester grade is passing. If the second semester
of a MATH COURSE is failed, the student will have to repeat the entire course. For all other courses, when only the second
semester is failed, only the second semester is repeated.
Transfer students from non-accredited public, private,
or parochial schools shall validate credit for courses by testing or evidence that courses meet the State Board requirements
and standards must be identified.
Regular Courses The level of instruction in
regular classes is designed for the majority of the students; the curriculum is structured to challenge most students and
prepare them for college entrance.
Pre-AP amd AP Courses Through Pre-Advanced
Placement and Advanced Placement courses, advanced instruction is provided for students who have demonstrated that they are
not sufficiently challenged in the regular classroom. Enrollment in these classes is open to students who will commit to do
the advanced work and the study that is required. Reccommendations from teachers will also be sought. It is a requirement
for students in Advanced Placement classes to be passing the course at the end of the first semester in order to remain
in the class. Gifted/Talented students are served through these classes. Pre-Ap and AP classes are given extra rank weight
when GPA is computed. The following Pre-AP and AP classes are offered:
